On June 12, 2025, Rep. Panetta expressed his concerns about the president’s decision to militarize law enforcement in Los Angeles. He stated, “The president’s actions, militarizing law enforcement, have escalated tensions in Los Angeles.” As a Californian and an American, he emphasized his stance against violent protests while advocating for peaceful and strategic support of hard-working families and constitutional values.

Panetta highlighted his engagement with the agricultural community by stating “Great to meet with those who continue to make our agriculture strong and discuss the challenges and innovations shaping our seed industry.” He acknowledged their work rooted in research and science as vital for helping farmers produce stronger crops to feed a growing global population.

Jimmy Panetta has served in the U.S. Congress since 2017 after succeeding Sam Farr. Born in Washington D.C., he now resides in Carmel Valley at age 53. A graduate of UC Davis with a BA earned in 1991 and holding a JD from Santa Clara University obtained in 1996.
