Jimmy Panetta, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 19th district since 2017, recently shared his thoughts on various pressing issues through social media posts. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley, Panetta has been an active voice for his constituents. He holds a BA from the University of California, Davis, and a JD from Santa Clara University.
On June 14, 2025, Rep. Jimmy Panetta addressed national protests via social media. “Today, as Americans mobilize across the country, remember that this Administration is looking to distract from its failed policies,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of peaceful protest and warned that those resorting to violence would face prosecution.
Later that day, Panetta expressed solidarity with fellow Californian legislators supporting Senator Alex Padilla. “I stood with my colleagues from California in support of our Senator, @SenAlexPadilla,” he tweeted on June 14, highlighting Padilla’s advocacy for both California and constitutional principles.
The following day on June 15, Panetta conveyed condolences regarding a tragic incident involving political figures. “The murder of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and the shooting of Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, is an immense tragedy,” he wrote. He extended prayers to their families and communities affected by the crime.
