In a tweet from November 7 at 17:16 UTC, Panetta wrote: “Great to meet with local restaurant owners to discuss the impacts of this Administration’s policies on businesses. I’ll continue to work in Congress to lower costs for small businesses in California’s 19th Congressional District and across the country.”
Later that day at 20:37 UTC, he commented on foreign affairs: “Honored to meet with the President of Kazakhstan as we further our relationships with those countries located in Central Asia. Situated between China and Russia, these countries are strategically important and why we should continue to develop our trade relations, including”
At 22:17 UTC on the same day, Panetta addressed environmental issues related to his district: “We must take the threats by this Administration to our coastline very seriously. That’s why together we must always be ready to protect the beauty and bounty of the Central Coast.”
Panetta has represented California’s 19th District since 2017 after succeeding Sam Farr. He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently resides in Carmel Valley. Panetta holds a BA from the University of California, Davis (1991), and a JD from Santa Clara University (1996).
