Panetta, who replaced former U.S. Congress member Sam Farr in 2017, utilized the platform to highlight his involvement in several issues pertinent to his constituents and national interests.
On April 14, 2025, Rep. Panetta expressed his engagement with a veteran experiencing delays with the VA through Twitter, stating, “When a veteran waited over a month without word on his VA appointment, I stepped in. Now, his Podiatry appointment is scheduled, and his concerns have been addressed.” He encouraged individuals facing federal agency issues to reach out to him for aid.
The following day, on April 15, Panetta announced his role as a co-sponsor of the BELOS Act via a tweet at midnight. “Honored to co-sponsor the BELOS Act with @RepGabeEvans to provide free lifetime National Park passes to the families of fallen service members,” he posted. The bipartisan initiative aims to support and commemorate the families of those who have sacrificed their lives in service.
Later that same day, at 3:25 p.m., Panetta shared his involvement in the development of Nokia’s expansion in San Jose. In the tweet, he highlighted his longstanding support for the project and the opportunities it brings: “From securing federal investment to watching construction progress, I’ve been proud to support Nokia’s San Jose expansion every step of the way.” The new facility promises to drive innovation and provide opportunities within his district.
