On December 16, 2025, Panetta announced the introduction of new legislation aimed at advancing sustainable offshore aquaculture. The Central Coast is home to an extremely diverse”.

Later that day, Panetta addressed progress on another bipartisan effort focused on infrastructure development and regulatory reform. In a post dated December 16, 2025, he wrote: “The bipartisan Studying NEPA’s Impact on Projects Act is now before the Senate. I am proud to co-lead this bill that would cut the red tape and kick start investment in new housing, infrastructure, and energy projects for the people in CA-19 and across the country.”

On December 17, 2025, Panetta shared his perspective regarding U.S. policy toward Venezuela and executive authority over military action. Panetta has represented California’s 19th district since replacing Sam Farr in Congress in 2017. He was born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently resides in Carmel Valley at age 53. His educational background includes a BA from the University of California, Davis (1991), and a JD from Santa Clara University (1996).
