U.S. Representative Jimmy Panetta, who has represented California’s 19th district in Congress since 2017, posted a series of statements on social media addressing transparency regarding the Epstein files, community engagement by local students, and concerns over rising healthcare premiums.
On November 18, 2025, Panetta stated his position on the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. He wrote: “Today, I voted to release the full Epstein files because the American public deserves transparency and because most of all, the victims of Epstein’s abuse deserve justice. As a former prosecutor, I believe we must hold perpetrators of abuse accountable and protect victims of” (posted November 18, 2025).
The following day, Panetta highlighted student participation in veterans’ recognition events within his district. In a post dated November 19, 2025, he said: “Great to see the dedication of our local students in honoring our veterans and engaging in their community. I am proud to represent such vibrant and engaged communities throughout California’s 19th Congressional District.”
Later that same day, Panetta addressed economic pressures faced by families due to healthcare costs. He wrote: “Skyrocketing healthcare premiums are forcing working families in CA-19 to make hard choices about putting food on the table or paying for health insurance. I joined a bipartisan group in the House to make sure that Senate negotiations on ACA credits actually have a chance at” (posted November 19, 2025).
Panetta has served as U.S. Representative for California’s 19th District since succeeding Sam Farr in 2017. Born in Washington D.C., he is currently based in Carmel Valley and holds degrees from UC Davis and Santa Clara University.
