Representative Jimmy Panetta, who serves California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 25, 2025, addressing federal policies and their local impacts.
In a tweet from July 25 at 00:30 UTC, Panetta stated, “The Postal Service should be focused on stopping drug trafficking, mail theft, and crimes against children, not assisting this Administration with its deportation policies. I joined my colleagues in demanding USPS return to its core mission.”
Later that day at 15:30 UTC, he commented on healthcare services in his district: “The closure of the Westside Planned Parenthood clinic is a direct result of President Donald Trump’s reconciliation law and its cuts to Medicaid, undermining a major part of the health care safety net for women and families, not just in our 19th Congressional District, but all”
At 16:30 UTC on the same day, Panetta addressed flood management efforts: “The community has worked way too hard and waited way too long on the Pajaro River Flood Risk Management Project for this Administration to now omit it from the Army Corps work plan. Despite this thoughtless decision, our partnership at all levels of government will continue to”
Panetta has represented California’s 19th district since replacing Sam Farr in Congress in 2017. He was born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and resides in Carmel Valley. Panetta holds degrees from UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
