U.S. Representative Jimmy Panetta, who has served California’s 19th district in Congress since 2017, recently highlighted his involvement in local and international matters through a series of posts on social media.

On November 17, 2025, Panetta shared an account of assisting a student athlete with visa issues. He wrote, “A student athlete reached out to me when his student visa was delayed just one week before his classes began at a local university. Within 48 hours of reaching out to the US Embassy, I secured his visa so that he could attend class on time. If you are experiencing delays after https://t.co/sgjq9fc6BV”.

Later that day, Panetta met with constituents to discuss foreign policy priorities. On November 17, he posted, “Great to meet with constituents to discuss the importance of a strong U.S.-Ukrainian relationship. I am committed to ensuring that Ukraine has the resources it needs to push back against Russian aggression and defend its democracy. https://t.co/dhFR6Z8vMH”.

The following day, Panetta announced new federal funding for emergency services in his district. On November 18, he stated, “Proud to secure $935,000 in federal funding for a new state-of-the-art fire engine for the Cambria Fire Department. Our first responders must have the resources they need to respond to emergencies, stay ahead of danger, and protect people in CA-19. I’ll continue to make sure the”.

Panetta’s recent activities reflect ongoing engagement with both local issues—such as supporting students and first responders—and international concerns like U.S.-Ukraine relations. Born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and now residing in Carmel Valley, Panetta holds degrees from UC Davis and Santa Clara University School of Law.
