Jimmy Panetta, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 19th district since 2017, has recently addressed various issues through his social media platform. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley, Panetta has been active in legislative matters and constituent services.
On May 12, 2025, Rep. Jimmy Panetta shared that “A constituent was experiencing severe delays in getting his passport. He contacted me, and I was able to expedite his request for him to get his passport and travel.” He encouraged others facing federal government issues to reach out for assistance.
Later that day, he announced the introduction of new legislation: “Proud to help introduce the bipartisan SERVE Act to strengthen military recruitment by ensuring students across the country have access to the opportunities that come with service.”
In another post on May 12, Panetta highlighted environmental concerns by stating that “Wildfires burned nearly nine million acres last year, and the threat continues to grow.” He mentioned co-leading the reintroduction of the Forest Protection and Wildland Firefighter Safety Act aimed at enhancing firefighting capabilities.
