He wrote, “Appreciated meeting with members of NARFE Chapter 1496 to discuss the importance of protecting earned benefits for retired federal workers. Later that day, Panetta highlighted his participation in an event organized by the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies. In his tweet he stated, “Great to join the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies to recognize the importance of the U.S.–India partnership and the advocacy of Indian Americans in CA-19 and beyond. On July 17, Panetta criticized recent legislative efforts related to health care access. He tweeted, “The reconciliation tax bill is a direct attack on health care for working families. I stood with local doctors to sound the alarm. We’ll keep working to protect access to care and put patients over politics.” (posted at 00:00 UTC).
Jimmy Panetta has represented California’s 19th district since succeeding Sam Farr in Congress in 2017. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1969, Panetta resides in Carmel Valley and holds degrees from UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
