U.S. Representative Jimmy Panetta, who serves California’s 19th district in Congress, shared updates on his recent engagements and priorities through a series of posts on September 2, 2025.
In a post published at 19:44 UTC, Panetta wrote about meeting with the Los Padres National Forest Supervisor Winter. He stated, “Great to meet Los Padres National Forest Supervisor Winter. We talked about ensuring strong operational capacity and quick wildfire response, and continuing close coordination with the Big Sur community. I look forward to working with her for Los Padres National Forest.”
Later that day at 21:00 UTC, Panetta highlighted his participation in Retiree Appreciation Day at the Presidio of Monterey. In his message he said, “Joined local veterans, retirees, and military families at this year’s Retiree Appreciation Day at the Presidio of Monterey. As a Navy veteran of the Afghanistan war, I believe that service doesn’t stop when the uniform comes off. That’s why I’m working in Congress, and here at”.
At 23:00 UTC on the same day, Panetta discussed his approach to office hours and constituent engagement. He posted: “Office hours aren’t just about casework, they’re about listening. I appreciated hearing directly from constituents about their priorities, challenges, and ideas. Your feedback informs my work in Washington and keeps me grounded in our community.”
Panetta has represented California’s 19th district since succeeding Sam Farr in 2017 as a member of U.S. Congress (source: FACTS FOR STEP 4). Born in Washington D.C., he is currently based in Carmel Valley and is an alumnus of both UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
