U.S. Representative Jimmy Panetta, who serves California’s 19th district in Congress, recently posted a series of updates on his social media account addressing constituent services, commemorating September 11, and supporting law enforcement transparency.
On September 11, 2025, Panetta shared an example of constituent assistance: “After months of silence from the IRS about her 2024 refund, a constituent contacted my office for help. I worked to cut through the red tape, and she got her full refund directly deposited. I’m always ready and willing to get the federal bureaucracy moving and working for you.”
Later that day, he reflected on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks: “Today, we remember the lives lost and the heroes who emerged on September 11, 2001. We honor the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans whose courage carried us through those tragic times. We stand with the families who still carry unimaginable grief and loss.”
On September 12, Panetta commented on recent developments in California law regarding police identification: “California is taking the right step by requiring law enforcement officers, including federal agents, to identify themselves during operations. I support legislation in Congress to ensure accountability and transparency across the nation so all families can feel safe.”
Jimmy Panetta has represented California’s 19th district since replacing Sam Farr in Congress in 2017. Born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley at age 53, Panetta holds degrees from UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
