Jimmy Panetta highlights district achievements and introduces legislation for immigrant protection

Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who has represented California’s 19th Congressional District in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently highlighted several initiatives and recognitions involving his district and legislative efforts through a series of posts on social media.

On August 12, 2025, Panetta praised the people of his district, stating: “From the beauty to the bounty in California’s 19th Congressional District, our greatest asset is still the people. Especially those who come here to work hard, play by the rules & build a better life. We will protect them as they continue to contribute to our economy, our”.

Later that day, he recognized local organizations supporting veterans: “Honored to recognize the Veterans Transition Center for earning the 2025 Outstanding Member Award from the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans. Their work turns crisis into stability for those who served, a shining example of CA-19’s commitment to our veterans.”

In another post on August 12, Panetta addressed public safety and immigration policy: “When immigrant survivors and witnesses of crime are too afraid to come forward, our entire community is less safe. I introduced the Immigrant Witness and Victim Protection Act to lift the arbitrary caps on U and T visas, protect applicants from deportation, and ensure those who”.

Panetta has been active in Congress since replacing Sam Farr in 2017. He was born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently resides in Carmel Valley. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from UC Davis (1991) and a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University (1996).
