Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who represents California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his legislative efforts and constituent services through a series of posts on social media.
On November 15, 2025, Panetta commended law enforcement and government agencies for their work to address the fentanyl crisis, stating: “Credit to the multi-agency effort to stop the spread of fentanyl in our communities. Fentanyl is targeted at some of our most vulnerable community members and why I introduced my bipartisan Combating Illicit Xylazine Act to schedule drugs, like Xylazine, which makes fentanyl more”.
The following day, on November 16, 2025, Panetta addressed concerns about housing affordability. He wrote: “More and more people feel homeownership is out of their reach. That’s why I authored the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Act to help working families in CA-19 and across the country achieve the American Dream of home ownership.”
Later that same day, he updated constituents about federal government operations: “Federal agencies are open and government employees are returning to their desks. My office works closely with these agencies to assist constituents who may be facing challenges with the IRS, Social Security Administration, Dept. of State, Veterans Affairs, and others. If you’re”.
Panetta has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Sam Farr as representative for California’s 19th district. Born in Washington D.C., he is currently 53 years old and resides in Carmel Valley. He holds a BA from UC Davis (1991) and a JD from Santa Clara University (1996).
