U.S. Representative Jimmy Panetta, who serves California’s 19th district, recently shared updates on his legislative and constituent activities through a series of posts on social media.
On July 20, 2025, Panetta highlighted his visit to a hospice provider in San Jose: “Visited With Grace Hospice in South San Jose to thank them for their commitment to compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care. Their work is why we are pushing my legislation to protect hospice services from fraud and ensure Medicare payments truly support providers doing it”. The post underscored his ongoing efforts to advance legislation aimed at safeguarding hospice services against fraud and ensuring that Medicare funding supports legitimate providers.
Later the same day, Panetta addressed local business concerns in Santa Cruz: “A small business in Santa Cruz was still waiting on their final Employee Retention Credit refund. I pushed the IRS to expedite processing, and the $17,500 refund was issued. I’ll keep showing up for our local businesses and staying focused on what matters.” The statement referenced his intervention with the Internal Revenue Service to facilitate a delayed tax credit refund for a local business.
On July 21, 2025, Panetta posted about workforce development initiatives: “Met with a constituent who is interested in setting up a local trade school. By combining hands-on training with real career support, our trade schools are helping close the skills gap and build a stronger, more prepared workforce.”
Panetta has represented California’s 19th district since 2017 after succeeding Sam Farr as U.S. Congressman. He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently resides in Carmel Valley. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis (1991), and a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University (1996).
