Rep. Jimmy Panetta, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 19th district since 2017, recently shared updates on various topics through his social media account. Panetta, who resides in Carmel Valley and holds degrees from the University of California, Davis and Santa Clara University, used his platform to address local achievements and national issues.
On June 3, 2025, Panetta extended his congratulations to Carmel High School for winning their 10th CCS baseball title. He praised the student athletes for their dedication both on and off the field as they prepared to advance to the NorCal tournament. “Congratulations to Carmel High on capturing their 10th CCS baseball title! The Padres now head to the NorCal tournament. Proud to see the hard work of these student athletes, on and off the field, showing exactly what we are made of.”
Later that day, Panetta expressed concern over disaster-prone communities being unable to access funds from the BRIC program due to its cancellation by the current administration. He emphasized his leadership in a bipartisan coalition aimed at restoring this critical pre-disaster resiliency funding. “Disaster prone communities will be unable to access the BRIC program due to its cancellation by this Administration. That’s why I lead a bipartisan coalition demanding the restoration of this vital pre-disaster resiliency funding.”
In another post on June 3rd, Panetta highlighted a successful constituent service case involving an unresolved IRS issue. A constituent reached out for assistance with her amended tax return from 2021; within two months of contacting his office, she received her $432,354 refund. Panetta underscored his commitment to helping constituents navigate bureaucratic challenges effectively. “When a constituent couldn’t get a response from the IRS about her 2021 amended return, she called my office. I got to work, and within two months, her $432,354 refund was released.”
