Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who represents California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his involvement in supporting local veterans, honoring community leaders, and advocating for rare disease research through a series of posts on social media.
On December 17, 2025, Panetta shared an example of his constituent services work: “It’s my job to make sure our veteran families have the resources they need. When a veteran reached out for help with their local Veterans Services Office (VSO), I was happy to assist. By working with the VSO, I helped get his request granted for Aid and Attendance for his wife”.
Later that day, he paid tribute to Norma Moye, a prominent figure in Paso Robles: “As a lifelong Paso Robles resident, Norma Moye was a beacon in the community. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Paso Robles Main Street Association, Norma turned downtown Paso Robles into a vibrant, flourishing hub of culture and economy. Norma’s leadership and vision”.
In another post on December 17, Panetta discussed his engagement with those affected by rare diseases: “Excellent meeting with those that are affected by a rare disease, including a UCSC student. Congress must support and fund research so that those with a rare disease can continue to live their lives.”
Panetta has served as California’s representative in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Sam Farr. He was born in Washington D.C., is currently 53 years old, resides in Carmel Valley, and holds degrees from UC Davis and Santa Clara University.
