On March 27, 2025, Panetta expressed concern about the challenges faced by U.S. servicemembers in the Sahel region. He emphasized the mounting threats from terrorism and instability, compounded by limited resources and allies on the ground. Panetta noted, “That’s why I’m proud to lead this bipartisan effort alongside Rep. Blake Moore that would extend tax relief to those brave Americans.”
Later the same day, Panetta highlighted the issue of fraudulent honey imports, which negatively impact American beekeepers and mislead consumers. He announced his collaboration with Rep. Greg Steube in introducing the bipartisan Honey Integrity Act. This legislative measure aims to address these concerns. According to Panetta, “That’s why I teamed up with Rep. Greg Steube to introduce the bipartisan Honey Integrity Act, to crack down on honey fraud, protect our producers, and ensure consumers get the real thing.”
The following day, on March 28, 2025, Panetta focused on protecting critical social programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. He referenced his active engagement through 14 town halls across his district, CA-19, to inform residents about potential threats to these benefits, emphasizing their earned nature. Panetta stated, “These earned benefits must be protected, and, together, we can keep fighting to keep them secure.”
