Jimmy Panetta, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 19th district, continues his legislative efforts to support his constituents through various initiatives. Since beginning his tenure in 2017, replacing Sam Farr, Panetta has focused on conservation, agriculture, and support for rural economies. His recent activity demonstrates ongoing commitments to these areas.
On April 28, 2025, Panetta announced, “I authored and introduced the Central Coast of California Conservation Act to protect our beauty, bounty, and economy of California’s 19th Congressional District.” The initiative underscores his dedication to the preservation and economic benefits of the natural landscapes within his jurisdiction.
Later that day, Panetta met with local almond growers to discuss the Farm Bill. He expressed commitment to supporting farmers through legislative measures, stating, “Great meeting with local almond growers to discuss expanding markets and getting a strong, bipartisan Farm Bill passed this Congress. I’ll continue fighting for policies that support our farmers and strengthen California’s agricultural community.”
Concluding his public communications on April 28, Panetta shared his role in reintroducing a bipartisan effort known as the A-PLUS Act. He remarked, “Proud to help reintroduce the bipartisan A-PLUS Act to support our ranchers and rural economies. By removing outdated barriers, we’re empowering livestock market owners to invest in local processing, boosting competition, strengthening food supply chains, and keeping ag.” These actions aim to alleviate barriers for ranchers, stimulate economic growth, and enhance food supply chains in rural areas.
Jimmy Panetta was born in 1969 in Washington, D.C., and currently resides in Carmel Valley. A 1991 graduate of the University of California, Davis, he earned a law degree from Santa Clara University in 1996.
