He mentioned the importance of these interactions by stating “Thanks to those who participated in my office hours in South San Jose. I appreciated the conversations, thoughtful questions, and the chance to work directly with constituents on the federal issues impacting their lives. Always grateful to serve CA-19.”
Later that day, Panetta voiced his support for a sustainable transit initiative known as the SURF! Busway project.
