Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who represents California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several local and national issues through a series of posts on his official social media account.
On September 8, 2025, Panetta expressed appreciation for a local leader, stating, “Thank you to Scotts Valley Vice Mayor Allan Timms for his service and dedication to the community. From advancing affordable housing to helping move the Town Center project forward, his impact will last long after his resignation. Wishing him the best in his next chapter.”
Later that evening, he commented on ongoing challenges faced by families seeking COVID-19 vaccines during a surge. In a post at 22:30 UTC on September 8, Panetta wrote: “Families are lining up for COVID vaccines in the middle of a surge, and being turned away because of HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy, Jr.’s guidance and guidelines. By putting that guy in charge of health policy, the Administration is undermining science, blocking access, and”
In another update posted at 23:30 UTC on September 8, Panetta described constituent services provided by his office: “After losing their mother, one family faced additional hardship when SSA delayed an overpayment refund. I contacted SSA and got the payment issued. The family now has closure and the funds they were due. I will always stay focused on serving CA-19 families.”

Born in Washington D.C., he currently resides in Carmel Valley and is an alumnus of both University of California, Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
