Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who has represented California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently shared updates on social media about local engagement and national policy concerns.
On May 6, Panetta marked Teacher Appreciation Week by posting, “Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! This week and every week, we should thank our educators in CA-19 and beyond for their critical work every single day to shape our next generation of learners and leaders. The following day, May 7, he highlighted a visit to a local business: “It was great to tour a McDonald’s in Santa Cruz and meet with employees to discuss their work and its opportunities. https://t.co/L8tVE5Fbfa”.
Later that same day, Panetta addressed foreign policy issues concerning Iran: “This Administration continues to engage in its war with Iran without a clear strategy or definition of victory. Panetta, born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley, has served as the representative for California’s 19th district since succeeding Sam Farr in 2017. He holds a BA from the University of California, Davis (1991), and a JD from Santa Clara University (1996).
