Rep. Jimmy Panetta, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 19th district since 2017, has recently highlighted concerns over healthcare and international relations in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On July 22, 2025, Panetta addressed the issue of home- and community-based care for individuals with disabilities, stating: “Across the country, children and adults with disabilities rely on home- and community-based care to live with dignity. The Administration says their cuts won’t hurt this care. Experts and families say otherwise. I’ll keep working to protect Medicaid and ensure every American”.
The following day, Panetta turned his attention to Medicare Advantage provider networks. On July 23, he wrote: “Ghost networks in Medicare Advantage are leaving too many seniors with surprise bills and delayed care. I introduced the bipartisan REAL Health Providers Act, which would require accurate provider directories and ensure patients get the care they deserve, not the runaround.”
Later that same day, Panetta shared an update on foreign policy discussions: “Met with the Algerian Ambassador to discuss the U.S.-Algeria relationship, regional security, and trans-national terrorist organizations in their region of the African continent. Appreciate the dialogue and look forward to continued conversations that promote our mutual”.
Panetta has served in Congress since replacing Sam Farr in 2017 as representative for California’s 19th district. Born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley, Panetta earned a BA from University of California, Davis in 1991 and a JD from Santa Clara University in 1996.
