On June 20, 2025, Rep. Panetta highlighted his reintroduction of the Disaster Relief Medicaid Act by stating “When disaster strikes, no one should have to choose between their safety and their health. That’s why I reintroduced the Disaster Relief Medicaid Act, which would ensure survivors who cross state lines can keep their Medicaid services.” This act aims to safeguard continuous healthcare access for disaster survivors moving across state boundaries.
Later that day, Panetta expressed support for the Santa Clara County Office of LGBTQ Affairs through a tweet: “The Santa Clara County Office of LGBTQ Affairs is a beacon of visibility, safety, and support for this vulnerable community here in CA-19. I’m proud to stand with leaders like them to ensure that everyone can live authentically.” His message underscored the importance of community organizations in providing essential support and fostering inclusivity.
On June 21, 2025, Rep. Panetta addressed foreign policy concerns regarding Iran by stating “The U.S. needs a coherent strategy when it comes to Iran. The President must lead from the front, not from behind. But right now, this Admin’s vagueness is causing deep concern in the Middle East and around the world.” He advocated for diplomatic solutions as a way forward amidst international uncertainties.
Jimmy Panetta was born in Washington D.C., in 1969 and currently resides in Carmel Valley at age 53. He graduated with a BA from the University of California, Davis in 1991 and later earned his JD from Santa Clara University in 1996.
