Rep. Jimmy Panetta, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 19th district since 2017, recently highlighted key issues facing his constituents through a series of posts on social media.
On October 20, 2025, Panetta addressed the ongoing challenge of housing affordability along California’s Central Coast, stating, “The high cost of housing is a serious issue for people living along California’s Central Coast, and finding solutions remains my priority. Last week, I met with local realtors to discuss housing priorities and ways to keep housing affordable.”
The following day, he marked a cultural celebration by posting on October 21: “Wishing a joyful Diwali to all who are celebrating the Festival of Lights this week with family and friends.”
Later that same day, Panetta focused on wildfire preparedness in his district: “I appreciate the opportunity to tour a producer of safe fire retardant and learn about their fire suppression technologies. With the increasing frequency of wildfires in CA-19, fire safety and preparedness remains one of my top concerns.”
Panetta has served as the representative for California’s 19th District since succeeding Sam Farr in 2017. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley at age 53, Panetta holds degrees from UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
