Rep. Jimmy Panetta, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 19th district since 2017, recently shared updates on his meetings and activities through a series of posts on social media.
On July 21, Panetta posted about a meeting with National Nurses United, stating: “Met with National Nurses United to discuss the future of Medicare, efforts to expand access to care, and the impacts of the President’s reconciliation package. Look forward to our work together, pushing forward for our community.”
Later that evening, he wrote about attending an event supporting young people with epilepsy: “Was honored to join the Young Adults with Epilepsy for the Tides of Hope Gala on the Monterey Peninsula. YAWE is a shining light for young people navigating epilepsy, building community, breaking stigma, and leading with compassion. I’m proud to support their mission in Congress” (July 21).
On July 22, Panetta highlighted his participation in a panel at a national forestry conference: “Joined a panel at the National Congress on Forests to talk about advancing solutions for healthy forests and thriving communities. From wildfire resilience to rural economies, smart forest policy is key to protecting our environment and supporting the people who depend on it.”
Panetta has represented California’s 19th district in Congress since replacing Sam Farr in 2017. Born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley, he holds degrees from UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
