On April 24, 2025, Rep. Panetta expressed his support for the bipartisan Neighborhood Homes Investment Act. In his post, he stated, “Proud to help introduce the bipartisan Neighborhood Homes Investment Act to expand affordable homeownership in underserved communities. This bill would revitalize neighborhoods, create jobs, and help more families build generational wealth through homeownership.” The bill aims to assist underserved communities through increased homeownership, neighborhood revitalization, job creation, and enabling families to build generational wealth.
The following day, on April 25, 2025, Rep. Panetta shared his experience hosting a roundtable event at Samsung in San Jose. He tweeted, “Hosted a roundtable at Samsung in San Jose to hear directly from industry leaders about the opportunities and challenges facing U.S. semiconductor manufacturing. Thanks to the CHIPS Act and ongoing federal investments, CA-19 is helping lead the way in innovation, jobs, and supply https://t.co/hmGa8v7woj”. The roundtable served as a platform to discuss the current state of semiconductor manufacturing in the U.S., highlighting the impact of federal investments like the CHIPS Act on innovation and job creation in California’s 19th district.
Later on the same day, Rep. Panetta announced the passage of the bipartisan Disaster Related Extension of Deadlines Act aimed at providing equitable treatment to disaster victims in terms of tax obligations. He stated, “When disaster strikes, taxpayers deserve clarity and fairness, not confusion and penalties. Proud to help pass the bipartisan Disaster Related Extension of Deadlines Act to fix gaps in the IRS code and ensure disaster victims aren’t hit with surprise bills or denied refunds.” The act’s objective is to prevent disaster victims from facing unintended tax consequences, such as surprise bills or refunds denial.
Rep. Jimmy Panetta, born in Washington, D.C. in 1969, currently resides in Carmel Valley. He obtained his BA from the University of California, Davis in 1991, and his JD from Santa Clara University in 1996.
