Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who has represented California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, shared updates on meetings with local leaders via social media on May 11, 2026.
In a tweet posted at 16:17 UTC, Panetta stated, “Good meeting with local school superintendents about the importance of increasing federal funding for special education.”
Later that day, at 18:36 UTC, he wrote, “Productive meeting with branch heads of a local insurance agency to discuss potential policies to make insurance more affordable in California.”
At 21:46 UTC, Panetta added, “Great to meet with representatives from local credit unions about what kind of support they need from Congress to continue serving their communities.”
Panetta has served as the congressional representative for California’s 19th District since replacing Sam Farr in 2017. Born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley, Panetta holds a BA from the University of California, Davis and a JD from Santa Clara University.
