Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who represents California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted local conservation efforts, manufacturing achievements, and immigration challenges in a series of posts on August 20, 2025.

In one post from that day, Panetta celebrated expanded public access to protected lands: “We’ve fought to protect Cotoni-Coast Dairies, and today the public can now enjoy its trails, history, and beauty. This is how the federal government should work, partnering with local leaders, tribes, & volunteers to conserve our lands for our children and grandchildren.” (August 20, 2025)

Later that afternoon, he shared his impressions after visiting a San Jose electronics manufacturer: “Appreciated the opportunity to tour Valley Services Electronics in San Jose and see firsthand the innovation, precision, and skill that goes into their work. From circuit boards to complex assemblies, they’re a proud example of manufacturing excellence here in CA-19.” (August 20, 2025)

Panetta also addressed concerns regarding immigration processing delays affecting families in his district: “Families in CA-19 are stuck in limbo because of the Administration’s changes to the immigration parole system, the cutting of staff, and the creation of year-long backlogs. I continue to press USCIS for answers and action to restore clarity, transparency, and fairness.” (August 20, 2025)

Panetta has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Sam Farr as representative for California’s 19th district. He was born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently resides in Carmel Valley. Panetta holds degrees from UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
