Rep. Jimmy Panetta, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 19th district since 2017, recently shared insights into his activities and opinions through a series of tweets.
On June 10, 2025, Rep. Panetta expressed his involvement in a local community event, stating “Had the honor of serving people, this time with some excellent food, at La Merienda. Great to serve and celebrate Monterey’s 255th birthday with history, diversity, and food. This tradition reflects the spirit of our community, and the people who continue to preserve and”.
In another tweet posted on the same day, he criticized federal actions concerning Los Angeles: “The Administration’s dispatching of federal troops to Los Angeles is about retribution, provocation, and distraction. The president doesn’t like California policies and politics. He wants to incite violence for political points. And he’s trying to distract from a tax bill that”.
Additionally, Rep. Panetta highlighted international relations by mentioning a meeting with an Irish official: “Great to meet with Senator Mark Daly, Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, to reaffirm the strong bond between the U.S. and Ireland. Proud of our work together to help secure Cliona Ward’s release, and committed to deepening our economic and diplomatic ties.”
Panetta was born in Washington D.C., lives in Carmel Valley at age 53 years old; graduated from UC Davis (BA) & Santa Clara University (JD).
