On April 4, 2025, Representative Panetta attended the 81st annual spring meeting of the San Luis Obispo County Cattlemen’s Association. He expressed his honor to engage with local ranchers and recognize Debbie Arnold for her contributions. “Great to join the San Luis Obispo County Cattlemen’s Association for their 81st annual spring meeting to discuss the challenges & opportunities facing our ranchers. In another post dated April 5, 2025, Panetta elaborated on his interaction with local business leaders. We’re focused on expanding opportunity, passing critical legislation, securing federal investment, and ensuring our system of checks and balances stays strong.”
On April 7, 2025, Panetta referred to the suspension of funding for FEMA’s BRIC program, attributing this decision to OMB Director Russ Vought. He made an urgent call to the FEMA Acting Director demanding the continuation of the program. “The FEMA BRIC program allows communities to invest in preventing and preparing for natural disasters. Unfortunately, OMB Director Vought is stopping the funding for BRIC. On Saturday afternoon, I had an emergency call the FEMA Acting Director to demand that this program continue.”
