Rep. Jimmy Panetta, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 19th district since 2017, recently highlighted legislative and constituent efforts in a series of social media posts.
On September 4, 2025, Panetta addressed concerns about Medicare payments, stating: “When Medicare payments don’t keep up with the cost of care, providers leave and patients lose access. My bipartisan bill would stop these cuts, stabilize reimbursements, and ensure seniors in SLO County, CA-19, and across the country can get the care they earned.”
Later that day, he discussed resolving an issue for a constituent facing IRS delays: “After months of unexplained IRS delays, a constituent contacted me. I worked with the IRS to verify their wages and withholdings. Three months later, their nearly $19,000 refund was issued for the constituent. I’m staying focused on helping people get what they’re owed.”
On September 5, 2025, Panetta announced legislation to protect immigrant victims and witnesses: “Victims of crimes and human trafficking should never have to choose between seeking justice and facing deportation. Panetta has served as the representative for California’s 19th district since replacing Sam Farr in 2017. He was born in Washington D.C., is currently 53 years old as of 2024, resides in Carmel Valley, holds a BA from University of California Davis (1991), and earned his JD from Santa Clara University (1996).
