Rep. Jimmy Panetta, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 19th district since 2017, announced a series of recent achievements and constituent services via his official Twitter account on October 13, 2025.
In his first post of the day, Panetta recognized the Marie Bauer Early Education Center, stating, “Congratulations to the Marie Bauer Early Education Center for being awarded the California Early Childhood Special Education Spotlight on Excellence Award. This recognition highlights the hard work and dedication at Marie Bauer to give the children of CA-19 the foundation they” (October 13, 2025).
Later, Panetta shared news regarding federal funding for higher education on California’s coast, writing, “I am happy to announce that UCSC has received two federal grants from the Department of Education for $18.33 million. These funds will expand educational opportunities for local students along California’s Coast.” (October 13, 2025).
In a third update, Panetta highlighted his office’s efforts to assist a constituent during a government shutdown: “One of my constituents reached out to me for help after facing difficulty with the IRS to change the name of his business. I was able to work with the agency and secure the documents necessary to complete this process. The least that we can do when the government is shut down is” (October 13, 2025).
Jimmy Panetta, born in Washington, D.C. in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley, has represented California’s 19th District since succeeding Sam Farr in 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis, and a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University.
