Representative Jimmy Panetta, who has served California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently shared updates on his ongoing engagement with constituents and local leaders. Panetta, born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and a resident of Carmel Valley, continues to emphasize community outreach and collaboration as central themes of his work.
On July 12, 2025, Panetta highlighted a meeting with student leaders from UC Santa Cruz. He stated: “Met with inspiring student leaders from UC Santa Cruz who are driving innovative outreach efforts to support fellow students and their faith in our democracy. Proud of their advocacy and excited to keep building together.”
The following day, July 13, 2025, Panetta reported holding his nineteenth town hall focused on recent tax legislation. He wrote: “Held my 19th town hall to discuss the Majority’s harmful reconciliation tax law. I’ll continue to inform my constituency of the negative effects of this law on our community and country, and how we can move forward.”
Later that same day, Panetta met with Paso Robles Councilmember Kris Beal to discuss local priorities for District 1. In his post he said: “Great to meet with newly elected Paso Robles Councilmember Kris Beal to hear about her work and priorities for District 1. I look forward to partnering on ways we can continue to serve the community and support the people of Paso Robles.”
Panetta is an alumnus of UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD). He succeeded Sam Farr in Congress in 2017.
