Rep. Jimmy Panetta, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 19th district since 2017, shared several updates on his official social media account on May 7, 2025. The posts reflect his engagement with educational achievements, community outreach, and legislative initiatives.
On May 7, Panetta extended his congratulations to the Paso Robles High School SkillsUSA team for their success at the California state conference. He noted that they earned “11 medals” and gave a special mention to Frida, Kyle, Patrick, and Asyel as gold medalists who will advance to nationals in Atlanta this June.
Later that day, Panetta expressed his honor in welcoming a group of local eighth graders to Washington D.C., emphasizing the importance of public service. He mentioned being “grateful for the chance to talk with them about what it means to serve in Congress” and highlighted themes of national and community service.
In another post from May 7, Panetta addressed agricultural concerns by discussing legislation he introduced called the Preserving Family Farms Act. He stated that “far too many family farms are at risk of being lost due to the estate tax cliff.” The act aims to modernize tax codes to protect future generations of farmers and sustain rural communities.
Panetta was born in Washington D.C., currently resides in Carmel Valley, and has an educational background from UC Davis and Santa Clara University.
