Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who represents California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on community projects and constituent services through a series of posts on August 13, 2025.

In his first post, Panetta highlighted efforts to address veteran homelessness: “Proud to tour Lightfighter Village in Marina, 71 new homes for homeless veterans, built with wraparound services to help them thrive. Projects like this change lives. When we invest in veterans, we strengthen our community.” (August 13, 2025)

Later that day, he announced progress on a local development initiative: “For years, Scotts Valley leaders and residents have envisioned a Town Center that connects our community, boosts small businesses, and strengthens our local economy. I’m proud to announce new federal funding to help the City purchase the final parcels needed to make this” (August 13, 2025).

In another update regarding constituent outreach and support services, Panetta stated: “During this latest round of office hours I met with residents facing challenges with Social Security, veterans’ benefits, and immigration services. My office is here to help cut through the red tape and make the federal government work for you. Proud to keep delivering results,” (August 13, 2025).

Panetta has served in Congress since replacing Sam Farr in 2017 as representative for California’s 19th district. Born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley at age 53, he holds degrees from UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD). His recent posts reflect ongoing engagement with housing initiatives for veterans and support for local economic development.
