Rep. Jimmy Panetta, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 19th District, shared a series of updates on June 7, 2025, via social media platform X. His posts covered topics ranging from celebrating Pride Month to advocating for agricultural support and recognizing local achievements.
On June 7, Rep. Panetta raised the Pride flag outside his DC office to mark the beginning of Pride Month and commemorate “50 years of Pride in Santa Cruz.” He expressed pride in standing with the LGBTQ community both within his district and nationwide as part of ongoing efforts toward equality.
Later that day, he addressed concerns about potential USDA office closures, stating that such actions would have deprived farmers of crucial support services. He emphasized having opposed these plans successfully and committed to continuing his advocacy for ensuring agricultural communities have access to necessary resources.
In another post on June 7, Rep. Panetta honored Eagle Scout Michael Blastos at his South San Jose office. He highlighted Michael’s dedication to leadership and service, noting his accomplishments including earning 31 merit badges and holding multiple leadership roles within Scouting.
Jimmy Panetta has been a member of Congress since replacing Sam Farr in 2017. Born in Washington D.C., he now resides in Carmel Valley and holds degrees from UC Davis and Santa Clara University.
