Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who has represented California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, shared a series of updates on his official social media account this week, highlighting congressional activities and engagement with constituents.
On November 12, 2025, Panetta announced the induction of a new colleague to Congress: “Proud to witness the swearing-in of our newest member of Congress, Rep. Adelita Grijalva. Her first act as a member of the U.S. House was to sign the discharge petition forcing a vote to release the Epstein files. Later that day, on November 13, 2025, he described ongoing discussions with local agricultural producers: “Another good meeting with local farmers who continue to be the backbone of our community. Look forward to our work together ensuring a proper Farm Bill, getting rid of tariffs, and working towards proper trade deals.”

Jimmy Panetta began serving in Congress after succeeding Sam Farr in 2017 and currently resides in Carmel Valley. He was born in Washington D.C., earned his undergraduate degree from UC Davis in 1991 and his law degree from Santa Clara University in 1996.
