Rep. Jimmy Panetta, who represents California’s 19th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his work through a series of posts on social media.
On September 6, 2025, Panetta described his efforts to assist a veteran in his district: “When a veteran in CA-19 couldn’t schedule needed surgery through the VA, I got involved. After my inquiry, the VA moved forward, and his procedure was scheduled. He’s now getting the care he deserves. Despite the noise in our politics, I’m focused on supporting our veterans and”.
Two days later, on September 8, Panetta commented on national economic policy: “The recent jobs report appears to be a reflection of this Administration’s economic policies. As part of it, the President’s tariffs are causing great uncertainty in the markets and shrinking opportunities for small businesses. Congress must step up and reclaim our authority over”.
Later that same day, Panetta highlighted local cultural contributions: “Honored to celebrate 40 years of the Monterey County Pops! For decades, the Pops has brought our community together with free concerts, patriotic performances, and programs that inspire the next generation.”
Panetta has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Sam Farr as representative for California’s 19th district. Born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently residing in Carmel Valley at age 53, Panetta holds degrees from UC Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
