U.S. Representative Jimmy Panetta, who represents California’s 19th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on November 11, 2025, addressing federal law enforcement practices and honoring military veterans.
In a post from early that morning, Panetta raised concerns about the use of force by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), writing: “A lack of training and an attitude of impunity leads to excessive force by ICE. I helped introduce the Stop Excessive Force in Immigration Act to ensure that our federal law enforcement gets proper training and is held accountable to the public. The Courts have been the bulwark” (November 11, 2025).
Later that day, he marked Veterans Day with a message acknowledging service members and their families: “On Veterans Day, we pay tribute to the the many Americans who have served in the armed forces and fought for our freedoms. Our veterans and their families exemplify the values that are necessary for our democracy to thrive. I commend the veterans and their families in CA-19 and https://t.co/h7pLssOJ9Z” (November 11, 2025).
In another post on November 11, Panetta described his efforts to assist a constituent who served in the Korean War: “It was an honor to present a local Korean War Veteran with the service medals that he earned through his time in the U.S. Navy. This constituent originally contacted my office for assistance to correct a clerical error in his discharge certificate. After I helped get that https://t.co/SUyEFWTbPw” (November 11, 2025).
Jimmy Panetta has represented California’s 19th District since replacing Sam Farr in Congress in 2017. He was born in Washington, D.C., in 1969 and currently resides in Carmel Valley. Panetta holds degrees from University of California, Davis (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
