City of Seaside issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
The public is invited to a tour of pollinator gardens in Seaside, California parks on Saturday, October 2, from 1 pm to 4 pm. Activities at eight community parks will be held to showcase newly-established pollinator gardens and inspire the creation of more pollinator-attracter gardens. Walking and biking is recommended. If driving, carpooling is strongly advised.
An information booth at each park will offer resources for creating and maintaining healthy habitats for bees, birds, butterflies, and other threatened pollinators. Everyone who participates will be given a Tour Map, a Park Passport, and a packet of pollinator plant seeds selected specifically for the Central Coast region. All who participate in the tour will be eligible to win an earth-friendly, pollinator-inspired prize. Those who visit all eight parks will be eligible to win a grand prize.
