Of the 156,177 people living in Salinas city in 2020, 49.2 percent (76,781) were women and 50.8 percent (79,396) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Monterey Times.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 2,088. In the 65 and over age range, there were 8,062 females and 6,368 males.
