Of the 438,953 citizens living in Monterey County in 2021, 73.7% were old enough to vote, equating to 323,519 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 165,453 were male, constituting 51.1%, and 158,066 were female, making up 48.9%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Monterey County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 77.2%.
