California State University, Monterey Bay recently issued the following announcement.
MB host Sunbirds to complete nonconference schedule
The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team (5–3, 4–1 CCAA) will bid farewell to 2021 when it hosts PacWest Conference foe Fresno Pacific University Thursday (Dec. 30)
in The Kelp Bed. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Otters, off to their best start in CCAA play since the 2004–05 season, will look to even their nonconference record at 2–2 with a win over the Sunbirds. For its part, Fresno is 5–
1 against CCAA opponents, including a 69–58 loss to Cal State L.A. in its last game.
CSUMB is coming off a 76–64 win at San Francisco State on Dec. 20. Senior guard Jordan May (Troutdale, Ore.) led four Otters in double figures with a season–high 26 points.
Junior forward Andrew Ferguson (Perth, Western Australia) chipped in his third double–double in six games with 10 points and 11 boards.
