Public Safety Agencies Coordinating for Car Week 2022
Car Week typically brings thousands of visitors to Monterey County, and Car Week 2022 is expected to have record crowds at the many events and activities which will be taking place.
Monterey County, local jurisdictions, and state public safety agencies will be working together again this year to ensure safe and enjoyable events for residents, businesses, participants, sponsors, and vendors. This multi-agency effort will coordinate planning, public information and first response efforts throughout Car Week. Agencies involved include:
- The County of Monterey
- The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office
- Monterey County Regional Fire District
- Cypress Fire Protection District
- Pebble Beach Community Services District
- Monterey County EMS
- The California Highway Patrol
- City of Carmel-by-the-Sea
- City of Del Rey Oaks
- City of Marina
- City of Monterey
- City of Pacific Grove
- City of Seaside
As we head into this busy time, here is some important safety information for both locals and visitors:
- Please monitor traffic in event areas and be patient if your drive is slow.
- Fire danger in our region is high. Please do not discard cigarettes out of your window, use care in parking in non-paved areas. If towing vehicles, properly secure with tension trailer chains.
- Motorcycle stunts and pyrotechnics can ignite dry vegetation.
- There is zero tolerance for drinking and driving.
- Pull to the right for sirens and lights.
- Dial 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.
