The City of Monterey has been awarded an additional $105,968 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). Having used the previous two CDBG Cares Act funding to support the first in the region Emergency Rental Assistance Program, the City of Monterey earned additional money by demonstrating the capacity to quickly distribute the much-needed funds. The City was a leader in establishing the first Emergency Rental Assistance Program during the early days of COVID-19 and distributed all the money to qualified low-income households.
