The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team will try to make it two wins in a row over Chico State for the first time since 2007 when it hosts the Wildcats Thursday in The Kelp Bed. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m. as the nightcap of doubleheader action with the Otter women.
Andrew Ferguson posted his fourth double–double of the season (18 pts, 11 reb) to lead CSUMB past No. 7 Chico State 64–61 last Jan. 22 in Seaside. Kyle Johnson added 11 boards for the Otters, who took the lead for good on a Jailen Nelson 3–pointer with 1:15 left. Malik Duffy led three Wildcats in double figures with 18 points.
CSUMB (4–10 overall) also will be seeking its second consecutive win after defeating Cal State East Bay, 70–67, Saturday in Hayward. Chico State (8–7) had won three in a row before a 109–105 triple OT loss to CCAA–leading Cal State San Bernardino Saturday night.
