Rep. Jimmy Panetta, serving in the U.S. Congress for California's 19th district since 2017, has shared updates on his recent activities and priorities via social media. Panetta, who succeeded Sam Farr, was born in Washington D.C. in 1969 and currently resides in Carmel Valley. He holds a BA from the University of California, Davis, and a JD from Santa Clara University.

On November 26, 2024, Rep. Panetta expressed his dedication to supporting local small businesses during a visit to one such enterprise. "It was great visiting a local small business and hearing about the challenges and successes they’ve experienced. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I’m working in Congress to support their growth and sustainability in CA-19."

Later that day, Panetta highlighted the importance of agricultural research conducted by the USDA in Salinas for enhancing farm resilience within his district. He emphasized his commitment to ensuring federal support for this vital R&D effort. "The @USDA’s research in Salinas is driving forward the resilience of CA-19’s farms, both organic and conventional. I’m committed to ensuring federal support for the critical R&D that empowers our growers to thrive in a changing climate."

In another tweet posted on November 26, 2024, Rep. Panetta addressed international concerns by discussing meetings with constituents about supporting Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia. "Met with constituents about our responsibility as the leading democracy of the world to support our ally Ukraine in its fight against Russia and provide assistance to the civilians caught in harm's way."
