59 percent of applicants to California State University-Monterey Bay were admitted for fall 2018

At California State University-Monterey Bay, 80 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 62 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Seaside enrolled 7,540 students in fall 2018, including 6,709 in undergraduate and 831 in graduate programs, data shows. 14.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

96 percent of undergraduates are residents of California, and 3 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (47 percent) and white (24 percent).

The school admitted 59 percent of the 12,423 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 14 percent enrolled.
