Representative Jimmy Panetta, currently serving California's 19th district, recently communicated his thoughts and initiatives through a series of social media posts. Panetta has been a member of the U.S. Congress since 2017, taking over from Sam Farr. Known for his local engagement and advocacy work, Panetta attended a community event, addressed a statewide issue, and extended a holiday greeting over two separate days in April 2025.
On April 12, 2025, Panetta expressed his support at a community engagement event, revealing his attendance at the Girls Inc. Spring Luncheon. He emphasized the significance of the organization since its inception in 1999, highlighting its role in empowering young women. "Proud to join so many in our community members at the Girls Inc. Spring Luncheon. Since 1999, Girls Inc. has empowered thousands of young women to be strong, smart, and bold, and today’s speakers proved just how bright our future is."
Following this, on the same day, he addressed a critical food security issue in California. In a statement at 23:00, he talked about the repercussions faced by food banks in the state due to a government decision. He lamented the impact of the administration's program freeze on over 300 food shipments, expressing his commitment to advocating for affected groups in his district. As he stated, "Food banks in all 58 counties across California are feeling the impact of this administration’s food program freeze with over 300 shipments canceled or paused. I’m standing up for our farmers, our families, and our food security."
Later, Panetta extended a holiday message to his constituents and beyond. On April 13, 2025, he posted a greeting for Passover, reflecting on themes of freedom and resilience. His message included a wish for peace and hope, urging people to enjoy their festive gatherings. "Wishing all those celebrating in CA-19 and across the country a joyful and meaningful Passover. As families and friends gather around the Seder table, may this season of freedom, resilience, and renewal bring peace and hope. Chag Sameach!"
Panetta, who was born in Washington, D.C., in 1969, currently resides in Carmel Valley. He holds degrees from the University of California, Davis, and Santa Clara University.
